This course is designed for musicians with at least 6 months of experience playing the piano or guitar (but is open to musicians of any experience level)
During this 6 week course, you'll learn a basic method for songwriting and demo recording. We will work one on one to develop your idea into a fully produced song. We will learn about form, chord progressions, writing catchy melodies, writing great lyrics, recording midi instruments and vocals, effects chains, and basic music production and mixing. You'll leave this 6-week course with a completed mp3 that's ready to be shared with the world!
Required equipment/materials:
Computer with high-speed internet (sessions are conducted on Zoom)
Music production software (ie Garageband, Logic, Pro Tools, Ableton, etc.)
Microphone (even a very basic microphone will work!)
USB/Midi keyboard
Headphones
Optional: Audio interface and cables for guitar
Scheduling: This course is scheduled individually, similar to private lessons
